
Fermin Suero, Jr. is an award-winning sound mixer, vocal engineer, and lyricist with work spanning Grammy-, Emmy-, and American Music Award–winning projects across music, film, television, and theatre.
He most recently contributed to Beyoncé’s NFL Christmas Day Halftime Show, the “Beyoncé Bowl,” a 2025 Primetime Emmy Award–winning production with four Emmy nominations. His recent work also includes vocal producing on Ayra Starr & Jon Bellion’s “Brought the Family” for Sony Pictures’ upcoming film GOAT, as well as the official soundtrack for the African Cup of Nations, 'Le Show' by Ayra Starr, Davido, & French Montana.
In parallel with his work in recorded music, Fermin is a 2026 Richard Rodgers Award–winning lyricist and an emerging voice in contemporary musical theater. He is a 2025 Recipient of the Rhinebeck Writers Retreat and a two-time Semi-Finalist (2024, 2025) for the Eugene O’Neill National Music Theater Conference as a lyricist. His writing has also received an Honorable Mention for the 2025 Relentless Award, recognizing bold, forward-thinking work in musical theatre.
Previously, Fermin mixed the NFL San Francisco 49ers 2024 Super Bowl theme song, “Do It For The Bay” by Saweetie & P-Lo, and mixed the South African Music Award–winning album 'But Could the Moments In Between' by Manana (Best R&B Album). His credits also include engineering on the Grammy-nominated track “Hero” by David Guetta & Afrojack, the American Music Award–winning 'Birds of Prey' soundtrack for the lead single “Diamonds” by Normani & Megan Thee Stallion, and the Emmy Award–winning documentary 'The Awakening'.
His discography spans major global artists including Anitta, Dua Lipa, Christina Aguilera, Sabrina Carpenter, Tory Lanez, Normani, Saweetie, Muni Long, Ayra Starr, LISA (BLACKPINK), Lil Tjay, Iann Dior, Monsta X, MAX, Bree Runway, Fletcher, Ashnikko, Jess Glynne, and Kiana Ledé, among others.
Originally from Perth Amboy, New Jersey, and of Dominican and Puerto Rican descent, Fermin’s path was nontraditional—nearly failing the 12th grade and dropping out of three institutions—before earning a B.A. in Theatre from Rutgers University (2018) and a Master of Music from NYU Steinhardt (2021). He is currently a lyricist in the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Writing Program, where he continues to develop narrative-driven work at the intersection of contemporary hip-hop and theatre.
